The fundamental flaw in TOR (and, by extension, all other anonymity clients) is that its traffic patterns make you stand out from everybody else.

Just using it makes you automatically interesting to state actors.

This is not a theoretical assumption: leaked XKEYSCORE “selectors” target anyone (1) searching for Tor on search engines or (2) using Tor.

Tor relays are publicly known so you don't need traffic pattern analysis to know if someone is using Tor. Or were you referring to something else?
You could be using a vpn or a proxy making it harder to be matched only based on IP address you connect to. Traffic pattern analysis would still work.
