Conservatives often say Republicans or the Republican Party establishment are dumb. Google the phrase “The Stupid Party”. So I believe that Trump (who has actually been a Democrat at points in his life) said something like that on TV. And that it’s not quite the smoking gun Reddit seems to think it is.
There's a very good chance this is just implanted memories. (Allegedly he says Republicans are dumb in the extended video)

But I'd like to see the original video to see if that's true!

Evidence against it being interesting would be someone would have leaked it by now. Even back in 88 it would have been recognised as having value one would think.

To me it's strong evidence of the ability to implant memories, so it's important to find.

If he really said it, a newspaper somewhere will have mentioned it after airing. The problem is the opposite won't happen.

I have no idea, but I'd call it urban legend rather than implanted memories. Every now and then one used to hear that Procter and Gamble's CEO had gone on X's show and said that Yes, their man-in-the-moon symbol was a sign of Satanism. In the case I remember, the flier picked out a recent episode of well-known show, and someone in the office called the TV station that carried the show. Of course, the show that day was something entirely different.
It's not a urban legend I think because there are no friends of friends.

It's people who claim to have seen it. (Rather than people who claim to have a friend who's seen it)
