Embassies are supposed to engage in diplomacy, not warfare (nor other military activity). Removing military attaches will repair and improve US reputation in these embassies' host countries.

That the article strikes a sad tone brings to mind the joke: "Why can there never be a coup in the United States? Because there is no US embassy there."
