"The Gita by Piaggio Fast Forward is the weirdest product (project?) I’ve ever reviewed. Created by a skunkworks associated with Italy’s Piaggio Group—makers of the Vespa—the Gita is a mobility tool designed for cities of the future.

And it also looks like a cute orange pig."

We could use one like this as a follow bot for the farm/field. Outdoors. More for transporting 50 lbs of greens.

Will the company tweak it a little for a different product? I can find a market for them in the small farm/market garden space. We need this. It’s the right price point too.

Any idea how to reach out to them or to any developers who can do it as an open source project?

You might inquire around the ROS (robot OS) ecosystem. There are a few "open agriculture" groups too

It seems it should be pretty doable, vehical + follow mode with an Rpi or similar. Both exist in OSS already in some form

Thanks! I am going to ask around.
