Star Raiders (which I played obsessively for a while) was very similar to the first video game I ever played, Starship 1. It showed up next to a couple of pinball machines I played at a driving range (golf) back around '77.

I never played Star Raiders on the Atari 8-bit computers. I did play the Atari VCS port a couple of times but much more enjoyed Activision Starmaster which was inspired by it.
