You're looking for Crystal, it's just hit 1.0. macOS doesn't have proper static linking anyway.

But I can compile Rust programs (be sure to use rustls instead of openssl, ...) and give it to a colleague with zero dev tools/libraries/docker installed and they can run them. Similar story like Go. And I can have Github Actions produce final binaries for deployment on pristine linux servers.
Seems „proper“ to me, no?
