I converted dBase, Lotus 123, Clipper programs to MS-Access and Visual BASIC. Knowing legacy languages help with upgrading and upsizing to newer technologies. These are not taught in college or hacker dojos.

I moved COBOL and FORTRAN programs off IBM Mainframes and AS/400 systems to Windows PCs using Visual BASIC.

Every organization has legacy code, but they don't want to pay the price of upgrading to modern technology.
