I love the attempted juxtapositing here but Ms Yellen's focus on economic means ignores a larger more serious challenge that there's insufficient prospects, few opportunities to raise oneself up in. The mean ought hopefully be doing ok, & her talking about it not is a sign of trouble, but it feels like the white collar musical chairs game is running a little low on chairs, that everyone's a little desperate to find a place of value to contribute, where they can be a part of making things better, seeing forward their enterprise's advance. and it's not clear how vital that economic can-do pulse is, not clear what jobs society can or wants to afford to do well.
