Ask HN: Often do you have to update your Android or iOS app

I'm debating starting to develop some simple apps for a few of my websites.

I'm going to make each one native, vs with a wrapper.

I've only done web apps since this point and was wondering, when you make an app, presume it's not one full of features.

How much maintenance is required to keep it working on existing/new phones? Is the backwards compatibility good? Or does it require constant maitence.

Reason I ask, if I have some websites that require very little maintenance and want to see how the mobile enviroment is.
