This is a tangent, but it's funny to think that in the event of something like Jeff Bezos not surviving the flight, it would trigger a parallel event of some people living in a reality where they believed the accident was staged and Jeff would still be alive in some island, it would all be an hoax he could easily afford.
Ha... he's given up his CEO position too. Maybe he's planning to move to his "survive climate change bunker". Either a bunker or a space station/space ship.
Or he is terminally ill and doesn't care if he dies next week or in a few months.
Probably living with Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.!
> “What are the chances that Jeff Bezos won't survive his flight on New Shepard?”

What a terrible and poor taste title.

What are the chances that it was chosen for “maximum click bait” reasons?

> Jeff Bezos should feel mildly confident that he's not going to be blown to smithereens during his upcoming jaunt to space.

I’m not normally one for knee-jerk reactions but I dislike this trivialising language very much.

EDIT: in fairness the rest of the article was not too bad. I wonder if the title and opening paragraph were actually in the writer’s original article or they’ve been added by some “editorial” team.

That kind of poor title always reminds me of a famous (at least where I live) twitter troll account that always answered those questions with "50/50, he does or does not survive", and makes me pass the article.
Alot of the people this article was written for actively want him to die on this trip, that's why it's so, uhm, "aggressively" titled.
Well, that’s depressing
Really? I can see how, as somebody who has advanced the frontiers of human exploitation, people might have strong negative feelings towards J Bezos.

(Personally, I don't feel that way, but I would be happy if some of the innovations amazon warehouses have made were banned. I don't think he's the problem - but he's led a company that has created a pretty monstrous workplace).

"strong negative feelings towards" != "actively wanting him to die"
Well, it's not like he will stop or governments will move against him. Him dying is the only thing that will stop him from doing what he's doing, if you don't want him doing it.
What effect, at this point, would Bezos have on Amazon, live or die? He did resign as CEO, didn't he?
I would much rather go on a Mig 29 ride to almost space. It's gotten a proven track record, recovering from an emergency is pretty straightforward, and it's sub-orbital either way. Watching the Virgin Galactic flight, it was obvious it was a glorified vomit comet that gets above the atmosphere.
>it was obvious it was a glorified vomit comet that gets above the atmosphere

Yes, I don't understand the attraction. I'm not as interested in the idea of human spaceflight as when I was younger, but if you're not even going to orbit once, then it doesn't seem like anything.

He's gonna find all the "dead" celebrities hanging out on the dark side of the moon
