This was written a year before Marie Kondo's book came out, nice.

I have to wonder if there's something to adopting a minimalist, fundamentals-focused view on productivity. Too often we're trying to do too much and get nothing done. Maybe remembering what activities spark joy in us is key to productivity. It ties our actions to emotional satisfaction. But the problem is how do we deal when what we have to do or what we want in the long-term is at loggerheads with what we find to be fun, pleasurable, or joyous?
