Hopefully said businesses didn't lock themselves too deeply into Salesforce's infrastructure.
if it was SAP or Oracle, we'd be reading this on their sites instead :)

Why didn’t all of these businesses have an online presence in the first place?
In the case of restaurants, many of the best didn’t need it. The diner down the street from me had a waiting line from 8 am until they closed at 3 pm every day. Why would the owner spend time on their website? Pandemic restrictions where you have to close your dining room or only use half your tables obviously changes the calculation.

I saw this generally when I ran a company that spun off from a university lab. The professor would constantly ask me why we weren’t working on our website. Meanwhile, I knew our toughest competitors didn’t even have websites because that wasn’t what drive our customers. Online presence is often not a priority if you’re actually delivering with an offline business.
