I got very excited that this would be about fountain pens, but I was delightfully surprised. Thanks Thevet, this was pretty cool.

Reading this reminded me of how pioneer expeditions can be compared to a lot of independent projects: how the beginning is a more unified team as there are many struggles to overcome that are plainly evident, and as time goes on, new faces and ideas appear, diversions emerge, and a more solipsistic way of acting takes over, as there are no more huge obstacles to unify everyone with. Only the strongest teams I have seen overcome this.
