So, he welcomes games changing desktop resolution which pretty much all of them do?

I'm not sure I've understood your refutation.

"oppose to the whole idea of games on Linux" is saying that someone does not want games to run on Linux, they don't like the idea of people playing games on Linux, they'd rather not have people playing games on Linux.

"hate that games change the resolution" is saying that the person does not like one aspect of games, they wish that games wouldn't do that, they are NOT saying that games should never be played on Linux, or that they're opposed of people having fun playing games on Linux.

EDIT: I'm not trying to pedantic here, this actually happened to me, when I was reading the post I was taken aback "what? is there really a Linux developer* that is opposed to games? Why would that be?" Then when I read the blog post thats linked from there I realized that wasn't the case _at all_ .

* even that would mean a kernel developer, not KWin etc
