(YC S11) Senior Rails developer needed with a whole lot of polyglot in them

by nate·15y ago·view on hn ↗
We're looking for a senior Rails developer who also has an eye for good design. We make casual games in HTML, Javascript, and Rails. We are a not yet "launched" Y Combinator-funded startup with a fast growing player base and beta clients asking for more.

Beyond the usual, you'll get to work with interesting tech. Just this week we made a Goliath/Eventmachine image proxy server with a Redis backend. Why Goliath? We’ve built a few Node.js apps for this company too, but we wanted to see if we liked Goliath/Eventmachine mechanics more. Node.js is great, but Goliath proved itself to be a lot fun to work with.

We are looking for someone who is proficient, can manage themselves, and can contribute new ideas. The team is very small right now. We're friendly, but serious about getting work done and iterating very very quickly. We aren't taking a project on right now unless it can get done in a week or less. You will have a big impact in a short amount of time. Location is wherever you live now.

Major additional points if you can help not only with server side Rails bits, but with mobile development as well.

This is a contract to hire position. We’ve run another company for years and in our experience, a contract with the chance to hire full time in the future has been the best way to see if you like us and we like you.

TL;DR We need a Senior Developer to help make web and mobile games in HTML, Javascript and Rails.

If you're interested, send an email to casualgamejob@gmail.com and tell us about yourself and some of the projects you've worked on recently.
