I had the pleasure of working on this bacteria that had been in space on the space station for 18 months.

The hydrogen peroxide resistance of it was insane! I’m working from memory, but orders of magnitude more resistant than other strong bacteria we had in the lab like K. pneumoniae etc. Not from being in space but the organism is just naturally that way and that’s why it is a problem and survives space decontamination protocols, which involve strong hydrogen peroxide rinses.
