There is known scarcity of their output by definition when they die. The allure of many assets is their real or implied scarcity. Even for Bitcoin we know there can only be 21 million bitcoins.
Also they cannot create something so bad that they will fall out of favor.
Nor can they create something better that will eclipse any of their work you purchase.
High art is not about the art but about the artist.
Much to the chagrin of the artist.
