I see the USA developing these advanced flying 'targets' in the face of mobile weaponry that with a few Apple iphone chips in it can be defeated by a $1000 portable weapon. This weapon will be made of plastic (except for the solid rocket metal expansion throat - propellant plastic). 10-20 of these can be launched on a fire and forget basis at one of these helicopters and it's survivability approaches zero(even 2-3 may be enough). Armed forces globally are developing these e-weapons, and additional ones based on smaller consumer quad-copters = soon a future war will be fought with these. The ones with Defiant X types in their armies may well lose. The absence of new ways of thinking/fighting future wars in the USA/UK etc might be a factor. The US/UK tends to be run by a geriatric old boy network at all levels. One only needs to see how well they run their politics to see how deep this rot is.
