Looks to me about the same as the huge "pro-gun" backlash against Smith & Wesson, back in 2000, over the Clinton Agreement. People got all worked up (rightly, sanely, or otherwise) about something that a big company did, and started voting their dollars.

Not that I'd expect any current-era "conservative" to publicly make such a "fair & balanced" comparison - dialing up the outrage doubtless pays far, far better than being right, or sane, or...
