[founder here] I also founded Firebase and sold it to Google. I don’t plan to do that again.

I believe you... I just don't know if (fastfoward mayop100 (years 5)) will necessarily agree with you.
So many founders have said the same, and ended up selling saying "you can't hold us to what we said X years ago, circumstances are different now".
But good luck. I hope like Fastmail you can build a profitable business that can last decades.
Genuinely curious why not?
