I know this comment will show up eventually, so saying it first. Thought this was a critique piece on Apache Kafka.

Yup. I think on this site we have to explicitly write out the full name, Franz Kafka that is, in order to avoid confusion.
some banal software appropriates a great name. wont be the last.

I started listing to it, thinking the same, and was confused for a few moments.
How tragic. It is so human to try to make sense of a life filled with so much suffering by blaming that suffering on one's own actions, or even on the actions of others, when the actual cause is likely uncontrollable. Especially when there was such a small amount medical knowledge in the early 1900s to be able to know what that cause is, for certain. It even happens today with a huge amount of people, with many known and unknown diseases.
