This guy's work is great - the image effect (rotoscoping) is compelling and disarming, and captures the fantasy of it all.
I liked the first half (suburban America) more than the second. I also really like "A Scanner Darkly" - both film and book. All are very well worth reading and/or watching.
if your in to high fantasy stories, check out The Spine of Night. it's also rotoscope and a pretty good watch
