There should not be a stigma on the desire to use crypto mixers to preserve anonymity. Saying it is only used for crime is like saying end-to-end encrypted chat apps are only used for crime.
The headline asks why, but the article is pretty clear. Thieves and people in sanctioned countries avoiding regulations.
What are the options for what this could mean?
Pretty straightforward really. Places that are desiring to ensure the financial system isn't usable by the sanctioned are going to start turning up the regulatory heat on cryptocurrency exchanges/fiat conversion points.
The frequency and size of rugpulls, scams & hacks in the cryptosphere has reached an all time high.
