Ask HN: Has a corporate engineering blog made you want to join the company?

Dan Luu wrote this fascinating post a while back (https://danluu.com/corp-eng-blogs/), proposing, "Companies compete relatively directly when recruiting, so being more compelling relative to another company has value to them; replicating the playbook Cloudflare or Segment has used with their engineering 'brands' would be a significant recruiting advantage."

Have you applied to work at a company after reading its engineering blog?

Both are good https://shopify.engineering/topics/infrastructure https://www.uber.com/nl/blog/amsterdam/engineering/

I do believe that there is a gap for a dedicated medium wioth life long learning education with deep focus and a wide range.

´The validation of value principle´ for social acceptance should be something to look forward to.

The influencer economy does not make someone a talented person. prrof of Actions do.

It's not a good reflection of the actual company practices. I joined ThoughtWorks as a Dev because of their engineering books but the reality is that you work with shitty Devs on most projects
Thanks for sharing your experience! When you look for your next opportunity, what indicators would you consider instead of (or in addition to) the books/blogs?
Look at the age of the companies. If they are new, you might have opportunities to do exciting stuffs.
