I highly recommend the book “Cod” by Mark Kurlansky. It’s a very easy read. “Salt” by the same author is also fantastic.
Came here to post the same. Paper and The Basque History of the World too. Just noticed Havana, must read. He's a great author, traveler and inquiring mind.
