I love how these people think traffic just gets there.
Ya know, I'd propose a middlebox day where nobody forwards anyone else's traffic as a reminder that the Internet is fundamentally a cooperative endeavor kept working in no small part by a hell of a lot of voluntary organization, and should not be taken for granted.
Then again, I know we're so locked into the Internet as medium now that practically everyone would be completely hosed if such a thing did happen, and I don't trust the disaster recovery plans spent anywhere near enough time on "the angry middlebox" contingency to know what to do to get things running again.
DDOS doesnt just hit the endpoint, it hits networks that have little to do with it.
