On another similar note, say what you want about the muslim invaders who eventually became settlers and rulers in India (especially the Mughal empire), but their dedication to patronising all artistic form (art, architecture, music, dance, drama, literature etc.) is something to be genuinely admired. (Ofcourse, that doesn't mean that Hindu and Buddhist kings didn't do so in the past). Even the Urdu language (it's foundation and vocabulary is built on Sanskrit and Hindi, with Persian, Arabic, and even Turkish words and uses a Persian-Arabic script for its written form) they created is truly a language of the artists in how it can be written creatively and artistically in various forms without losing its meaning (examples of Urdu Calligraphy - https://yandex.com/images/search?from=tabbar&text=urdu%20cal... ), and how pleasing and natural it sounds in poetry or songs.
