I was expecting something terrifying, like Saudi Arabian spies infiltrating Twitter to monitor dissidents[0], not losers saying bad words.

They are now the second biggest shareholder in Twitter. They don’t need to sneak people through the backdoor the way they did previously, they now legally own it.
This was true before elon bought twitter.
The size and scope of their influence just changed by quite a bit. Don’t try and just pretend this is no different to a month ago.
Prince Alwaled is invested in twitter since 2011, before its IPO.

I do not understand, in what way did it change?
Were they the no.1 share holder before?
Or in the other direction, did they also acquire shares as part of Musk's deal? Or do you mean it would be easier to influence Musk than the previous shareholders? I understand what leverage China has, but how did the Saudis get leverage over Musk?
Yup, they still own a part of private twitter now.
I want to see how fast China forces Elon to remove propaganda label from its official media accounts.
"We'd like to do a workplace safety audit for your Shanghai factory. And someone from the tax office will also be there to make sure the books are in order"...
And to silence or deprioritize dissenting voices.
China has a hold over him that they didn't over prior leadership. Literally got the man by the components.

Isn't this what Twitter has been doing here in the US?how so?
He stupidly built a VERY hard dependency on China for Tesla supply chains. They can now hold it all hostage in exchange for all kinds of opportunities when it comes to Twitter where they already have very active campaigns and goals.
Curious how they made that graph and what the y-axis is. Also curious what forms of that word they are using, because, I'd expect it to be pretty common already - which would make the spike illustrated more surprising.
The Y-axis units are "the publisher's disapproval of current Twitter owner"
Expect Twitter to become a Chinese propaganda platform soon.
Unless, of course, Elon sells off Twitter at a loss next year. It would be hilarious if Parag is hired back after that!

If TikTok has shown us anything it is that people don't actually care about Chinese influence.
