Looks like the ion energy isn't thermalizing as expected. This is important because only the ions on the tail of the distribution have appropriate energy to participate in fusion. It isn't terribly surprising that there is a discrepancy as it sounds like good thermalization is one of their simplifying assumptions. Good to see that things have progressed far enough that people can iterate on ignition and burning plasma experiments.
