Can you teach cats to recognize pointing (like dogs)
Is it possible to teach cats to look and investigate cues provided by pointing in a direction like is possible with dogs?

Yes. In Las Vegas (perhaps elsewhere too, but I know about that one) there's also a circus act with trained cats doing some acts, search for: Gregory Popovich cat show
Yes? Easier to point with the eyes like they do, and getting cats to perform on demand like slaves tends to be difficult, but they are highly social and intelligent animals.
