I visited one of these house museums my first trip to NOLA. Ironically, it was in a mobile home, just like where so many Katrina refugees ended up. Much more moving than my experience at NOMA. I was very impressed with the historical nuggets they captured— lots of stuff left out of the mainstream narrative.
