I refuse to buy anything locked behind a case at a location that is supposed to be a convenience.

Pretty much all drug stores are convenience locations located near grocery stores, Targets, local shops, shopping centers etc.

If Walgreens wants to put my favorite deodorant or razors behind a box in an understaffed location (because they've replaced multiple employees with a self check out) I'll just get a less good alternative elsewhere, order my favorite online, and be sure to track my usage so I don't run out next time.

TL;DR:

* Walgreens experienced a lot of shrinkage.

* They took steps to prevent shrinkage.

* Shrinkage went down.

* "Looks like we didn't need to take those steps to prevent shrinkage after all, silly us!"

I look forward to their removal of the anti-theft display cases pictured in the article.

Tracking down the store employee just to get an item that is locked up is very inconvenient.

Walgreens has been easy compared to getting something out of a case at Target. The whole pharmacy area was a ghost town.
