Trying to pass off basic human interaction as some kind of skill, as though engineers are incapable of being kind, is so annoying.
The author comes off as a self-involved twat. Neither me nor my coworkers give a damn about being kind. Work is stressful, if you want adult daycare go work at Google.
This comment seems overly harsh in my opinion. I don't think the author comes off as a self-involved twat and I generally found the website helpful.

I don't see this as a good thing to "brag" about, and I think trying to do something about work being stressful is a good thing.
These concepts are straight from the general management 101 book, except branded specifically for engineers who happen to be more effeminately inclined. You may not be the target audience, but it's solid advice about the correct attitude that a professional engineer should have.
