Well, it's now a multi-polar world between NATO and BRICS countries. Certainly people can believe (realize?) that a proxy war is going on, but to say so as a nation, and to assign the provocateur of that, is to essentially choose a side.
It would be better to rephrase it as "One year after the start of the war, an increasing number of countries are siding with BRICS." And I would agree with that assessment.
