Congrats to these teens and the work they have accomplished. If this holds true, that's a great achievement for them. The math that they have worked out is a bit beyond my depth but it sounds very interesting and likely a great addition to the understanding of large portions of the field of mathematics.

To the author of the Guardian article, no one cares about the color of their skin. Their skin color didn't enable them to do this work, and it didn't contribute to the work. Shame on you for making it a prominent part of your article headline.

EDIT: Some time between when the link was posted and I posted my comment the article title was changed from what the poster put and what the article headline is now currently. I confirmed before writing my comment, but unfortunately Wayback Machine did not capture this site before the change was made.

It actually comes off as very belittling to point out their ethnicity.

It's also contrary to the spirit and intent of the article.

What difference does it make what color they are? (Funny they mention black, but not female.)
I'm wondering the same thing.
