Effect is exactly the opposite they are hoping for. One tries once or twice government-forced content and never again.

So even when some independent producer in your country manages to make something actually good, it is shoved in the same-old-shit category.

Luckily Netflix is fighting back and helping viewers with new "popular in your country" - lists.
