I selected other because I believe the universe has no overmind(s) in the active sense. No gods, deities, Jupiters on high. People want stuff, we are not like ants - all to the queen. All religions are schemes(hierarchies) by man and perhaps other animals - all to get 'stuff'. For gorillas and bulls, it is raising of their own 'stuff'. With men stuff gets abstracted with objects, money, devotion, control - but it all boils down to stuff. I picked other as none wants me to be 'spiritual' - WTF is that? Some over mind. This all said, there may well be intelligent races/minds - far away so the limits of light speed interdict discovery/control/feedback and other forms of influence. Is the universe a complex artifactual 'stuff'? I think not, but I also know not. The depths of time and the vastness of the expanse means there may well be minds in the past/present/future?

One thing, AI explorers are things of stuff I postulate(as others have) that have an ever improving intellect as updates from the source are a thing. If 2 of these AI explorers meet - what will they do? War/discuss/merge? A smart AI will grab good ideas that are more task optimal than theirs - changing on the fly to carry on, both better for their task. Will one of these chance upon us? What will they do? war/discuss/merge/share? I suspect share - same as when 2 AIs meet. Time and distance are the intractable deeps, and the few hundred years of our far seeing abilities have still millennia for this to play out
