If YouTube or RIAA want to protect their precious content then put it behind a paywall like Netflix or Floatplane instead begging ad supported platforms for monetization. Good luck inserting ads mid song lol

You are giving YouTube motivation of protecting content but part of Yout's argument is that YouTube hasn't claimed the measures in question are intended to be protection measures. YouTube didn't even file an amicus brief in this case claiming such. Something I'm sure the RIAA would have put pressure on them to do.
