Yet another externality that is not accounted for when people say nuclear as an alternative is the devil.
I think there needs to be ways to scrub methane from the atmosphere, in addition to minimizing usage, leaks, and other emissions.
It turns to plain CO2 so fast that it really makes more sense to dump the resources into developing atmospheric CO2 capture.
The greenhouse warming potential of the methane is far higher than the GWP of the CO2 it oxidizes into, on short to medium timescales.
