What’s left for studio Ghibli?

Hayao Miyazaki can’t keep going out of retirement.

Isao Takahata is dead.

Goro Miyazakis track record is spotty at best (I quite enjoyed up on poppy hill)

And then who is left? Studio Ponoc seems to have vacuumed up any talent left.

With that said I am very excited for this movie.

I, as a consumer, would move on and watch Makoto Shinkai instead. His newest "Suzume no tojimari" is an incredible experience.
> I, as a consumer

what does that even mean, it's not like you have a to pick a studio/director and stick with it

Sorry, I assumed the content based on the first comment here, which described Ghibli as dead.

In this case a strong recommendation to watch both.

Why not both?
It's sad to think about the fact that this might be their last film, as they are above 80 years of age at this point. Hopefully they will all live to 100 and beyond, and make more great films!
What do they mean do “nothing”? They’re marketing it with an article in the Japan Times.
The only promotional material is a single poster. No trailer. No synopsis. Only a title. And a vague drawing. For a movie, that's as close to nothing as it gets.

Well, there's also some name dropping. Theme song by Yonezu Kenshi. VAs include singer Aimyon, actor/idol Kimura Takuya (who voiced Howl) and actor Suda Masaki. That's all. And two weeks ago (and I'm probably generous, I think it's less than a week), nobody even knew this was being released.
