> but I’m living proof that it’s possible to switch to an entirely new phone every week

I don't get why they're doing this but at first glance this seems so incredibly wasteful. Is there a logical explanation here I'm missing?

She reviews telephones.
I've occasionally noticed that consumer electronics reviewers (even when they have similar preferences) are disconnected from my expectations for devices. Namely, they're much more attuned to short and medium-term trends, including fads that I end up entirely skipping by sheer accident. They'll sometimes say 'it's been a long time since I've seen a phone with(out) XYZ!', meanwhile every phone I've ever used has been that way.

I don't think there's anything for it, since you can't make a living as a reviewer if you're not checking out new devices constantly. But it is weird sometimes.
