"The new provisions grant AGCOM the power to issue “dynamic injunctions” against online service providers of all kinds, a privilege usually reserved for judges in Europe’s highest courts."

Recap: Corporate interests acquire profound legal power. Because it is no longer properly restricted to the highest courts, it is no longer properly safeguarded from the inherent risk of abuse.

In my experience, the trading of cash/favors <-> gov power (bribery) that results in corruption like this - it is rarely challenged by the press or voters.

In the US, this sort of corruption is everyday Congress. News orgs rarely cover it. Meanwhile, it causes ~0% of voters to change their vote. In short, most people behave as if they're fairly well fine with it.
