They're so out of control. The wiki foundation has had money pouring out of their ears for over a decade, and their new initiatives impact wikipedia only very indirectly. Don't be bamboozled into thinking your 5 bucks is needed to keep the servers running.
Probably because past donors are the most likely to donate in the future?
