Tell HN: Brave closing vBAT accounts by the end of the month

Co-worker just pointed me to a note in Brave:

Action required: connect a custodial account or your vBATs will be lost

On 31 October 2023 at 00:00, we will be discontinuing support for existing virtual BAT balances. Connect a custodial account before this date so we can transfer your earned balance to your custodial account, otherwise your balance will be lost.

If, like me, you did give Brave a try you might have some vBAT locked away in a directory somewhere.

In my case, it is barely enough for a coffee, and nowhere near worth the grief of setting up a custodial account. However, I will see if I can find a site that I use that accepts the balance as a donation before it disappears. Perhaps, you have some silly tokens to shuffle around over the weekend too?
