An astronomical (sorry) amount of ancient knowledge was preserved because the islamic scholars valued learning. At times, the western educational circuit decried knowledge as being contrary to the proper order of the state, especially in the wrong hands.
I particularly like how this one, they have both the "look up, dummy" and "no, look at this globe" models. And, the Syncretism implicit in "yea, those romans called it this, but we call it that, so lets put a bit of roman polish in this picture you and I can relate to"
Also, the length of time as a continuity of (faulty, misapplied) knowledge to be able to say "yea, the stars DID look kinda different when they did this their time, we have to adjust for that now"
If you want to see it in a different context, I highly recommend the "Stellarium" App, it's super polished, and gives an option to switch to different "Sky culture"; Al-Sufi's being among the available choices, complete with drawings.
