Wouldn't 1k years just result in an over-exposed photo and thereby rendering it blank in the end? The article doesn't specify if the material can even hold out for that long.
1K years sounds far-fetched, it seems just as possible the framework holding up the pinhole camera will fail before then.

The longest exposure photo is about 8 years, and it looks quite good.

Even if it wasn’t overexposed, it’s not like it’d end up as a single transparent house superimposed on its absence… you’re just going to end up either layers and layers of transparent objects and render it unparsable. Over a thousand years, probably the only thing that might hope to be interpretable is the actual geography
australian aboriginal paintings show similar perspective - a bit like 1-10-100-years "exposure" of what has stayed at certain place.. what lasted.
