This scares me a lot. I'm hard-pressed to think of any group I trust less with healthcare-related anything than the US tech industry.

My fear is that it will, at some point, become impossible to get health care services without involving these companies. If that's not already the case.

I agree - I predict an awful lot of rent-seekers in this space that promise to make things more efficient/easier in the HC space - but really just end up adding additional costs that the founders can skim off the top without providing any real value to patients of providers.
