This looks nice and having used Splitwise and my own Spreadsheet based solution, I think you are missing very basic option of payment by multiple people. Multiple people in a group should be able to pay for the expense and then split accordingly.
This feature was suggested here: https://github.com/spliit-app/spliit/issues/14

It doesn’t look like an urgent feature to implement, but it’s on the plan ;)
