Is the problem under-specified? What if a compression allows for symbols outside of data? Which is to say, the domain of input is, let's say the alphabets, while the outputs can have numerics in addition?

aaaaa under this scheme can be mapped to a5 which can be shown to be unique as no input "a5" can exist. But I suppose I understand the spirit of the question.
