That is a neat regulatory idea - make app stores part of the "digital public infrastructure" and remove them from the control of BigTech. Developers will then be free to include whatever payment system they want in their apps, and Google or Apple can charge whatever commission they want only if the app includes their payment system and the consumer of the app opts to use it.

You can question and fight your democratically elected government. You can't do the same with an MNC who may have more money than your own country.
